Operate your business legally in Old Tafo

Every business operating within the municipality, from shops and salons to offices, workshops and market stalls, needs a Business Operating Permit from the Assembly. The permit is renewed every year.

Fees are set by the Assembly according to the type and size of your business. The money supports local services such as sanitation, roads and markets.

Operating without a valid permit can lead to penalties or closure of your business. Renew on time each year to avoid extra charges.

How to get your permit

  1. Visit the revenue office

Tell officers about your business: what you do, where you operate and its size. This decides your business category and fee.

  2. Submit your documents

Present the documents listed below for a new business or a renewal.

  3. Business assessment

Revenue officers may visit your premises to confirm your business details and category.

  4. Pay the permit fee

Pay the fee for your category at the Assembly and keep your official receipt.

  5. Collect and display your permit

Collect your Business Operating Permit and display it clearly at your place of business.
